On September 24, 2015, Betaseed coordinated and participated in its fourth annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Day event in Mitchell, NE. This event saw 150 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students from Mitchell and Morrill elementary schools take part in hands-on safety demonstrations and educational training activities. Through the activities, these young students learned the important fundamentals of water/canal safety, ATV safety, fire safety, drug awareness, grain bin safety, electrical safety, and bike safety. Volunteers from the Scottsbluff Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee, local businesses, and the police and fire departments also shared helpful tips to encourage safe practices in the community.
When asked about the annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Day, John Dillman, Regional Sales Manager at Betaseed, Inc stated “Betaseed is extremely proud to be involved and sponsor this event for the community. We love working with the students and being able to provide them with essential safety tips and measures. This event could not have been successful without the help from all of our volunteers, so we would like to extend a huge thank you to all that participated!”
Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is an incredibly beneficial opportunity for the young schoolchildren who attend the event. By combining fun and education, children become excited to learn about responsibility and the essentials to live safely. Betaseed looks forward to holding future Progressive Agriculture Foundation Safety events in the area.
