On September 25th, 2015, Betaseed helped coordinate and participated in its third Project R.E.D (Rural Education Day) in Sandusky, Michigan. The event, designated for fourth grade children, saw over 500 students from schools around the Sandusky area participate, which supports an agriculture initiative to educate children about agriculture, sustainable food, and general agricultural safety. Betaseed representative Rob Gerstenberger was supported by volunteers from Project R.E.D to share important information to educate students on agriculture, food, and safety. Rob also spoke to students about bicycle safety, while Betaseed donated bike helmets to all of the fourth grade students that wanted one.
Asked about the Project R.E.D event, Rob Gerstenberger stated that “Betaseed is extremely happy to be a part of this event for the third year. We have a great partnership with Project R.E.D and look forward to continued success with the event and all of the volunteers. We would like to thank our volunteers, because without their support, none of this would be possible.”
By combining fun with education, children truly become excited to learn. The Project R.E.D event gives children an exciting way to learn about the agricultural world all while having a fun and unique experience. Betaseed looks forward to holding annual Project R.E.D events in the future.
