All growers should aim to achieve higher yield potential on farm and BTS 1140 sites within a new group of varieties that have potential to raise yields, showing a significant yield advantage over both historic and newer varieties on the new recommended list.
Information from both internal and RL trials over several years suggest that BTS 1140 should not be sown early and that a later drilling date is advisable (Betaseed varieties BTS 3325 and BTS 4100 should be considered by growers wishing to drill early)
BTS 1140 offers very high yield potential with a high sugar content combined with good foliar disease tolerance.
